Gearshift

I have a Volvo S40 1.6 S Reg 1998 Manual Gearshift. I have a problem trying to change gears at any speed. The gearshift jams and is difficult to change. depressing the clutch pedal again sometimes helps but i have to do i a few times . This is really awkward when in traffic as you can imagine. I can always tell when the gearshift has stuck as it makes the car drag (slow down). I blead the clutch a couple of times and found some air and this seemed to fix the problem for a little while but not for long . I wonder if it could be anything to do with the slave cylinder maybe the seals have gone and letting in air i'm at a loss and hope someone can help me rectify this problem before i even think about changing the slave. I hope someone here has had the same problem and can help me out.
