Question D light changes intensity - certain conditions

I have a 2000 CR-V 155,000 Miles, Original Battery. This morning I noticed that my DRIVE "D" Light increases intensity when I let go of the gas, meaning the engine is slowing the vehicle down. When I increase gas it becomes darker, I pushed the brake pedal, no change - meaning it is the same intensity as when I push the gas pedal. When I switched to REVERSE "R" the "R" was full intensity the whole time.

I tried this in daylight so I did not have the headlights on nor did I check Gear 1 & 2 lights. I am worried this might be a problem more serious than a light.

Any ideas? I thought it might be the battery but it still works, car still starts.

i wouldn't worry about it. could also mean the light bulb almost dying if the light is dim. When you step on the gas, or heavy braking, there's more stress on alternator. That's why the lights go dim.

same thing happens when you have high audio system, with amps and subwoofer, when bass hits hard, the lights tend to dim because it sucks power and stressess the alternator.

Look into grounding kits like hyper ground system, if it bothers you a lot, but you can make your own. to help better electrical function, but main thing you will notice is smoother idle.
