lower radiator hose clamp ('94)

Just changed the coolant, thermostat, & hoses (even the little one off the thermostat...man that one is tough to get on) on my '94 Suburban 454 with tow package. I bought it used so this is my first time on this vehicle.

I have a very, very slow drip out of the lower hose where it meets the radiator. I have the hose clamp as tight as I can get it, which probably is tight...but not very tight. The reason is that I can barely get to it!!! With all the lines going to the transmission cooler I just can't seem to get much of a grip on the screw driver. Any tips from those who have done this before?

Thanks

Re: lower radiator hose clamp ('94)

try usind a 1/4 " drive socket (8mm) and hand driver, or ratchet and extention. using a screwdriver in tight spots is a pain in the ass

if anything like a 96 5.7L...

I had to remove the upper, then lower, radiator shouding to get to it.

If you cannot get a straight answer here, try posting at

Lots of experienced, Suburban-owning dudes there.

Best of luck,

Mike
