Gimme Knoledge!
Aight! Finally I found a place for only us. I got a 93 talon DL that I got at a good price from a aunt of mine. I thought it had some good specs on it and thought it was modified. I couldn't find out anything about it...The valve covers were moved, the vin was cracked and old, and it was basically totaled.
I finally found the vin number to find out that it is a 1993 Eagle Talon DL, 8v, 1.8 liter, SOHC.
When I got it, the front window was busted fromt he hood flying up and hitting it, which totaled the hood too. My back passenger rear light was busted, the hood latch was broke, and the battery dead. The interior smelled like ass, radio was stolen, and the engine was more dirty than the rings in the tub that a 8 year old leaves.
So far I have:
-Fixed the rear light
-Got the window fixed
-Bought the new hood latch
-Got a deal for the hood
-And got money saved away
I was thinking....
If I were to swap my 1.8 non tubo for a 2.0 turbo, would that cause damage to my car? I know the turbo comes on the esi awd.
Or...If I swapped my engine for a 2.0 non turbo DOHC.
I wanna know if the swaps would be worth my while.

first, before we fill you with knowledge spell the word correctly .
Anyways, the ESi= 2.0liter DOHC NON TURBO..the TSi's have the 2.0l DOHC turbo engine.
Is your car AWD or FWD? If you get an engine, make sure it matches the transmission type of your car[ example-> you find out your car is FWD, so find a turbo engine, that came from a FWD TSi. or ESi if you want a non turbo engine...]

Re: Gimme Knoledge!
i have a eclipse with a 1.8 if you need any more parts. the interior is fuckin perfect and the body's straight the paints crapped out though. i have all good engine parts too except they're all in boxes in the back. i threw a silent shaft bearing and dont have money to put the engine back together with an silent shaft eliminator kit

gittin back
actually...I knew how to spell knowledge...I just thought that I would not get into much trouble if I played around with it.
Like I said...I have a 1993 Eagle Talon "DL" Non Turbo not a 4wd. Onle the Tsi comes like that from what I know. My car, like stated before is a 1.8 L no more, no less.
I was basically wondering, did the engine have to do with the drivetrain or is that something else. My car is neither awd or 4wd and that is why I was wondering if I could put in a turbo engine for it. Which makes me wonder if the engine is linked directly to the drive type...if not...then that would mean that I could make the swap. If so, then my regular two wheel drive cannot suport it.
Can it be done....that is all that I am asking...
and 1st gen....What year is your eclipse...I really need items for the trunk compartment...

Re: Gimme Knoledge!
my 1.8 is a 93 mitsubishi eclipse. i live in lancaster pa. what parts do you need and how much will you pay. also about the drivetrain/turbo questions it will cost huge amounts of money to put a turbo engine in your car. the transmission, ecu, wiring harness, motor mounts, and a bunch of other crap are all different
