well i was recently blessed with the pleasure of crank walk. the ticking from the clutch started about a week ago but the car has been running fine. does anyone have a educated guess about how long she has to live!? because this bill will not be a small one so im hoping she will last atlease a few months. any ideas?

You could cut down on driving it. I know that would give you some extra time.

I don't know how much this will help, but the less stress you put on the crankshaft, it seems it will extend the life of your ailing car. Put it in neutral when you stop instead of leaving the clutch in, you know, things like that. Also make sure you don't run low on oil, and the usual maintenance precautions. Good luck, maybe it's a smaller problem than you fear!

dunno if this will help much at this point but use synthetic oil. the problem that causes cw is that the oil squirters are too small and they clog easily. so make sure to change the oil every 2500 at least and put on a new filter. might try running lighter oil but you'll probably get lifter tick

also take it to a mechanic and make sure that its actually cw and not just your clutch needing replaced
