Hopefully someone has some sort of answer.

My Jeep's tail lights quit working along with my dashlights and parking lights. So we looked at #17 fuse and saw that it was blown thinking that was the problem we put a new fuse in. As soon as we turned the headlight switch on it blew the fuse instantly and experienced that mutiple times. So we replaced the headlight switch thinking the circuit board was bad in the headlight switch. That didn't fix it. We know we probably have a grounded wire somewhere but don't know where to start.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? I would appreciate any responses. Thanks is advance!

Try to put out the bulbs for the headlight. Put in the new fuse and switch the head lights on. I've seen quite some light bulbswith short cuts. That is to say it can be a grounded wire but also may be the light bulb. BTW: the bulb may be partly short cut and still "work" briefly before the fuse blows.

remove all the lights from there sockets and replace the fuse. if it blows then sorry your on your own, if not, make sure that all the bulbs have the right number of prongs and are the right ones for your system. install them one at a time with the key and ignition on (engine off). use a board to engage the brake so the brake lights come on. apply the e-brake and put the tranny in reverse. install them one at a time untill the fuse blows......hey you found it.
