Exclamation 99 blazer GAS Gauge INOP

'99 s-10 blazer has an inop gas gauger anyone know how to fix it? i think once i got a code for it and it said that sending unit high voltage. so whats that all about? please help....

S-series fuel gauges are noted for going bad. Sometimes need to replace whole pump assembly to get the sending unit, expensive. Also note that in Florida area some gas was recently found to have high levels of sulfur, eats up the sensor windings. Gas companies are paying to get these fixed. Worth a look if you live in that area.
