Got to check the basics first. Got spark? If yes, then proceed to step 2. Got fuel? If you were to have a problem with the CPS you would not have spark.

Tackle one thing at a time. Start with the distributor...make sure the impact didn't knock something loose. Pull the #1 spark plug wire and have someone crank it to see if you're getting spark there. If you are, then you need to work on the fuel system.

I don't know a ton about my jeep, but one thing that happens to me all the time (and a friend of mine who also has a jeep) is that the TDC sensor wire is crappy, and I have to wiggle the connection a bit before the jeep starts. Otherwise, it'll just crank forever. Today, I went and crimped the connector just a little bit with some pliers, so hopefully that'll be more of a permanent fix. There's days when I have to wiggle that bastard every time I want to start the jeep.
Good luck.
Mike
EDIT:
Oops... I just read your post all the way through... Should've done that before replying. Anyways, TDC wire is probably not the case sorry... might be worth a check anyways. Also, the switch you're talking about is called an inertia switch. I've heard that it's only for when the car is flipped, but that could be wrong.

I don't know which engine you've got in your Laredo, but in mine (which is a 4.0L straight 6, it's towards the rear of the engine, right behind the last fuel injector, sitting on top of the block. It's a threaded post that sticks up out of the block, and there's a single wire that goes to it. The connection is just a metal sleeve (covered by an L-shaped rubber sleeve) that slides onto the post... Like I said though, if this is something that happened due to an accident, I doubt it's the TDC wire, but always worth a shot... I'll see if I can snap a picture of the connection.

No problem, glad I could help.
As far as the stalling problem, I can't hazard a guess... I would check all the spark plugs and wires first... maybe want to check the air filter too?
