1997 Blazer intermittent ignition key removal problem

Hi all, There is a new problem surfacing in the Blazer. It is 4WD, 4.3 auto with floor shift. Every few days, when shutting off the blazer, the ignition switch will not turn all the way to the lock position. The key can't be removed. So far, letting it set for 5 to 10 minutes & trying again works & the switch can be turned to the lock position. Any ideas where to look for problems?
Thanks, Bruce

Re: 1997 Blazer intermittent key removal problem

I have the same problem on my 97 blazer. If I turn the key to the "on" position and flip the thumb button on the shifter, I hear a click in the steering column. Then the key will turn off and come out. Someone said it may be the Park sensor on the shifter.
