Keyless remote trouble

Hi, I'm Grace, a newbie. I just got a keyless remote on ebay for my 98 Civic LX. I searched around online and thought it was the right one, but now I'm not sure because I'm having trouble programming it. (The car didn't come with a remote, so I didn't have anything to compare it to, but it does have the original factory radio).
The numbers are:
FCC ID: KOBUTAH2T
Canada: 1983 102 297

Can anyone tell me if this is the right or wrong remote? And if it's wrong, how do I know which one I need?

Here's the ebay link. Thanks for any help you can give!

Sigh, I called several Honda places today and nobody had a clue. None of them seemed interested in the FCC numbers. How else would you identify which remote you needed?

FCC numbers aren't going to help you. The link doesn't work, can you fix the link?

I'm not sure what's wrong with the link or how to fix it... Here it is again. So if FCC numbers don't help you choose what you need, how DO you choose the right remote?

I'm confused....if your car didn't come with keyless entry, then you're not going to be able to do anything with just a remote. You need a receiver inside the car to receive the remote signal.
