1999 Expedition - Blinker Problem

I have a 1999 Ford Expedition with a left rear blinker problem.

On occassion, the left rear blinker and break light will not work. Other times it does work. There seems to be no pattern as to when it does or does not work.

I can leave the house and it works fine and within 20 minutes of driving, the blinker stops working.

Any thoughts?

Re: 1999 Expedition - Blinker Problem

Ok, just did a test after reading another post, and found out that if the steering column is at the highest point or halfway down, the blinker and brake work just fine.

If lowered to the lowest point, the blinker does not work. Any guesses?

Re: 1999 Expedition - Blinker Problem

these vehicles have lots of problems with the multi function switch and the connector at the switch - there is a new connecotr with updated lock tabs to prevent the blinkers from cutting out at low tilt but if the tilt dowsnt matter it is most probably the switch
