Painting questions

When taking a car into a shop to be painted

1. is it better to do all the body work on your own? (will it save money)

2. can you buy the paint from somewhere and then take it to the shop? or do you buy the paint from them also?

for instance I want to get a custom color, would I buy this and take it to the paint shop or what?

3. What are some good companies in Southern California for paint jobs? the only places I know of are 1 day and maaco and from what I see on this site, they are not very good.

4. The paint shop will paint the inside of the car too right? not just the outside.

5. About how much is a professional paint job? is it difficult to paint a car on your own? or should you just leave it to the professionals.

Thanks

If you know what you are doing yes. What makes a paint job is the prep work, so if you do half ass body work then it will show in the paint.

Most places allow you to do bring your own paint, some shops say no though, check first...

Don't go maaco or 1 day, please.

If you pay for it, yes.

For a good paint job, I wouldn't pay any less than $2,000.
