Hey guys...what is the best stuff (and most importantly) least messy stuff to attach the black rubber foamy type thingie molding piece to the door frame again :)

I don't know exactly since the bodyshop did it for me and I wasn't really paying attention but I remember it was some 3M product. Go to a Paint/Body supplier and ask them. IMHO, 3M makes the best adhesives for anything, just figure out which one you need.

I saw a guy use some type of double-sided adhesive tape. He used a few 1/2 long strips every 6 inches or so. Oh yeah it was a 3M tape.

lol my rubbber foamy thingy started falling off, so I just used some good ol' elmers glue all that came with some furniture kit I bought, lol (the non-washable type). It's been holding for months :)

I lost the tack of the weatherstrip on both rear doors and heres what I learned.

1) first tried Permatex weatherstrip cement - result- messy application with good results until the temp outside hit mid 90 degrees then got floppy. It would re-tack but if you brushed it the rubber would come down again.

2) cleaned off cement and used 3M double sided tape - result- Pain it the arse to cut into proper size and peel. worked for two months and the summer heat killed the tack as well. This tape is still great to have around the home.

3) found some clear bottle of glue with Acetone in it call "Fabric tac" (i think) My wife bought this stuff at a fabric shop to glue down fabric onto wood or something and never used it again. Tested a small area to make sure it would adhere and not eat thru the rubber and VOILA!! the shit works great. I did this in August, right after it got cooler so will have to see what happens.
