Hey PPL, New here in the forum. I wanted to ask if there was a way to take out that damn Electronic Governor that keeps me from going over 110. I just hate being held back. You PPl got any info for me. 2004 Tundra.
The only way you will be able to get rid of the governor is with a chip for the computer or a reprogrammer. Not sure if they make one for the 04 but you can look into it at like Jet or Hypertech.
No offense, but why? It is a truck, not a race car. My SR5 Access Cab sits up too high for me to feel comfortable going 100+ mph.
Yeah True! But its just a feeling of being held back. I don't want that. If I want to blow away a Chevy or somthing like that, just want to know that I could. I hate to get the lead then to only get stoped at the finish.

my friends chevy s10 is governed at 98 or 99, AND
the 97 ford f150 i drove was governed at 98.
so stop worrying, youll kill domestics all over the place.
I'm not sure about dodges, but nobody in the right mind would go that fast in a dodge anyways.
i've got up to like 108 mph in my tundra, than the wheels started to rumble......everything is okay, but i suggest to do 100+ mph run in safe/closed area.

should really check what your tires are rated at before ever trying to go that fast

I hit the speed limiter one time in mine and that was enough for me. 105 in a 4 wheel drive is too fast. Need to buy a sports car if you want to drive that fast.

LOL.. I love the posts here.
I support the "do not do it"
If anything, I would work on your off the line power.. Tundra needs a little work on that.

what's one way to get over this thing. the tundra is getting pretty serious about straight aways now instead of off road use for right now. is there a way to get pass the 108+ mark?
