power door lock problem

I have a 2001 base model Silverado. The door locks fucntion by manually moving the slider, the opposite door then opens electrically. It is a low rent version of power locks.

The passenger side door recently soppted opening automatically. It seems that a cable may have come loose.

Re: power door lock problem

I cut off the rest of my inquiry. Does anyone have info about this problem and how to fix it?

Thanks

Door Locks.

If this truck was purchased used then it most likely has an aftermarket door lock kit that is refered to as a "central" locking system. You unlock one, the other unlocks as well. It is a way to get power door locks without having to cut into the door to add switches to both sides. Usually a nice system unless it stops working. I have installed alot of these and it can only be 3 problems. One of the motors are bad, connection has come lose or the control module under the dash has blown a fuse or gone bad. If you can track all these problems down yourself and fix it pretty inexpensively or take it to your local aftermarket alarm dealer. They usually install these as well. Good luck. Let me know if I can give you any tips to help you fix it.
