Serpentine Belt Tensioner

Does anyone know if its really easy or a pain in the butt to replace a serpentine belt tensioner. If so can someone tell me how I can go about this. I have the chiltons book but it doesn't say anything in there about how to replace the tensioner it only says how to replace the belt.

Bolt on, perhaps

I recently rebuilt an older GM and the tensioner was actually a bolt on, looking at my 88 s-10 it looks similar but u need to remove a few coolant hoses to reveal the bolts. I dont know what year your's is so the AC pump may be in the way. Good luck, Let me know how you make out.

Belt tensioner

I had to have mine relpaced. I had it done at Pep Boys. It is really only one bolt and it was cheap. $ 20.00 part, $ 40.00 labor.
