Question 1998 burban high oil pressure

I have a 98 suburban with a 350 5.7L 2500, my oil pressure gauge has been recently running up to 80 and eventually dropping back to about 40.I would maybe understand while it is warming up, but it does this even in the afternoon when it is warm out. I am just wondering what i should be concerned about with this and what i should do about it, any info would be much appreciated

Re: 1998 burban high oil pressure

Put a mechanical gauge on it to get a true reading. I had a Jeep do the same thing, it was a faulty oil pressure sensor.
