water!

Vacuumed up 5 gallons of water from under the carpet of the rear foot wells of my '92 Grand Am. Anyone know where the water might be getting in?

Re: water!

check the seal around the trunk; could be leaking in there then flowing forward to the rear-seat area

Re: water!

Nope. It's only in the rear and only when it rains!

Re: water!

I have a 95 GA and only when it rains, water puddles on my front and back driver side floor board. I am clueless, I have changed all seals and it is not the heater coil either. A bodyshop said, that it could be the hose through the firewall clogged. He said to go through the sqirrel cage you will see a small hole, have to stick something in there to unclogg the hose. I have tried to do this and so far I can't do it. If you have anymore answers to this please help.

Re: water!

ok if you look back on this site, you'll find that about 1/40 posts is about this. My 95 has the same problem on the drivers side floorboard. Im pretty sure that the verdict on the question is that its a design flaw in the 92-95 GA's. Some people have said that they drilled the drainage holes on the floor bigger and dont have the problem anymore so you might wanna try that. Personally, i havent done anything to fix mine yet but i will. Good luck

I have had water in both the front passenger and front driver side floor wells. My GA is a 94, and the problem started last year. Funny thing is, now it only happens sporadically. I can't figure out why it stopped happening for awhile, or why it's just a little water compared to last year when the floors were pooled with water. We've had the rainiest summer ever here too.

Re: water!

Do you have a sunroof? I have a power sunroof in my GMC truck, the drain lines from it will clog and leak into the truck. I blow compressed air on both sides of the sunroof to clean them out. No more leaks inside. Also your AC drain can be clogged and leak inside the cars passenger side front. I hope this helps in some way for some of you.
