99 Suburban Died

Driving to work this AM and she just stalled out and died, wont restart. Usually I can hear the fuel pump running and now I dont so that is the suspected culpret. But before I go that far Id like to know what else I can check to make sure something isnt killing power to the fuel pump.

All the fuses check good and if I turn on the key I can feel the fuel pump relay click (although it does seem somewhat sluggish at times) Also after only a few attempts to start the battery was too low to crank the starter so its possible the alternator went and I drained the battery...is there a minimum voltage for the fuel pump? Is it possible I would have been able to get it to crank a few more times but not have enough juice to run the pump? Just trying to explore all avenues.

I hooked up a code scanner but didnt get any codes, I dont have any more advanced diagnostic tools here with me.

Also, I read a few writeups on removing the fuel pump here and they basically say disconnect the wires and fuel lines then unbolt the straps and drop the tank, but I dont see how you can reach anything with the tank in place, I cant even see the wires and fuel lines (its got the big tank 42? gal I think if that makes a difference.) I tried to put a jack under it and undo the straps and lower it enough to get to the wires but its not moving, is there something other than the straps holding it up there, I felt the lines and wires and there wasnt any tension on them so they werent holding it up. I obviously dont want to tug on it to loosen it for fear of pulling a line.

This is all on a 99 Suburban (GMC) 2wd with the 5.7 Vortec

Thanks

Figured it all out, new pump is in and running fine.
