Its tough racing an accord..
I mean you see this guy on a Civic Si and spends half u did n hes out there to kick your butt. hehe!

With all of our cars weight n ratio...there more things to do than just dropping an h22a sometimes.

Accords with bolt ons can win ..if your racing with a bad driver and shifts like a baby. hehe!

Well, accords are just not race cars, and they certainly do not have the engine to race. Also they are heavy cars...the normal urban car-like features: FAT, HEAVY, SLOW, GAS SUCKING CRAP!.. That's all. :p

What most people do is fixup their car and show off somewhat pretending their car is faster...while its really not....compared to like a dodge VIPER which is an ultimate horse monster. Also, one reason why most people modify hondas is the availability of the parts....there really aren't or isn't a guy who would modify his FERRARI F50 or VIPER because those cars are already just top notch.

Well, also, hondas are CHEAP....try fixing up or even reparing a ferrari F50...na na na....too expensive for even a scratch. :)

Final words: Accords = Family cars

It does seem disappointing when you can leave the line as fast as some of the other Hondas out there.

as for modifying Ferraris & Vipers, talk to Koenig & Hennessey...now the Accords ride is smoother, more comfortable, & quieter than Civics. we are paying for more metal, more HP/TQ & the recognition that it's not a Taurus or Lumina.

Comon you can't compare a SI with a accord.. Accords where never meant to race.. Honda made them stricty as family cars. Honda marketed the Si for the younger croud and the accord for the middle age family groups who need decent room and power to hall their fat kids to soccer practice.

Yes it takes more to make accord a formable opponent to other Sport compacts.. . But then again accords arent' sport compacts, they are MID-SIZE FAMILY CARS!!

They are certainly not drag cars.. however they have potential to be ok touring cars.. Look at the old NATCC circuit the nuespeed accord whoop butt against stratus, bmw's etc. Have you ever tried bring your accord to a curvy back road.. it's fun.. :D :D

lol, even with the stock suspension it's fun. the only suspension mod that i have is a rear lower tiebar, and it makes a difference. IMO the accords are piping cars not race cars. they were mnade to look nice

According to the spec year 2000+ Accord can do about 7-8sec from 0-60mph that's not bad at all.

If u guys wanna win them civics, i guess removing unwanted parts such as backseats, spare tire, AC system, replace hood and sidepiece with fiber glass, use ligth rims, have header comeout straight through, use Air Ram system from WR, maybe swap an engine with blower on top =p.

so that's some chunk of money... ofcourse your car would be illegal to drive too..

I usually cruise my 2000 Accord 4 cy around 80mph, this thing is heavy... my max speed on this car is no more than 120mph.. won't go any higher even though the speed'meter said 140...

A friend of my used NOS on his Accord; it blew his engine block and piston rings, so don't even think about putting NOS in Accord unless u have mod your engine.

Other than that I don't know any other way to make this thing faster than to put chunks of money on it. We can always buy a Supra for about the same price that we are going to spend on the Accords to make it fast and furious.. =p

Hmm, I wonder why Honda entered Accords in the BTCC series, and not the Civics... Accords can be made fast... ;)

I feel phat and happy in my 90 LX. Just wish I could race with those puny Civics and out pimp my ride.:bandit:

I bought the accord to be a daily driven grocery getter. That V6 means that it'll do fine getting up to highway speeds, but thats about it.

I raced a 2001 civic from a light and believe it or not I do have a witness I spanked his booty!!! In my whoping 17sc 93 accord!!! And yes he was in it!!! :D

I agree with Ales, the Accords do very well in the BTCC series, and that is an extremely competitive championship, as well as being very entertaining to watch.:D

i agree about accords not being a race car but it can be a competative car againts civic si or not, i drive a 97 accord ex, exterior is stock but the engine is quite good.
my point is although accords are tagged as a family car it can beat any car with a good driver and a good engine set up

i have a 95 sw20 turbo
ive spent more than enough
and can smoke most of the competative racing cars
and accords are fun to drive but not the accords with turboes
try driving an accord in a mountain pass and youll know the feeling

i somewhat agree that it's just a family car.

but i'll tell ya this, i had an 86 lx, when it was stock ait went against my friend's taurus 3.0 spanked his ass. my friend's 96 neon. and a 94 accord lx non-vtec
but once i moded up a little, i've beaten toyota camery's, neon's in all year range's, oldmobile intrigue, 92, 95 civic's, saturn's 4 door's, 3rd and 4th gen accord's (no ex yet).

you don't have to remove your seat's or a/c or p/s.
i had all that stuff plus6.5 and 4 6x9's a amp and my toolbox.

accord 3gen and up can be moded up and you'll notice a difference in power evrytime time you add something, now people would think that a auto neon dohc could whoop a 86 accord ass.
but i proved them wrong epsically that guy with the sxt neon.

I drive an 98Accord4dr and its kool to go on turns n shit, but I seen A guy w/a 2000 2dr V6 with a TL 6spd tranny and his Accord kiss ass. Ill post the link if I find it.

I don't know what everyones talking about, a car is what you make it. I am buildin a N/A motor in my accord and the only car ive had a problem with is the dodge neon turbo.

I dont know, I'll stick to handlin cuz when I went to the track I all I was paired up against was V8s n Im not a fool.
