JDM b18b

i got a JDM b18b from hmotorsonline and it had a broken part, i didn't want to bother trying to get a new one from them so i was hoping somebody here could help me out. it is a plastic piece that seems to be connected to the throttle body, here is a pic:

i was thinking i could just get a new throttle body but i am not sure.

it also came with a funky power steering pump, here is another pic:

it seems like the placement for the hoses is way different than USDM motors, not sure if i need a new one.
any input on this would be greatly appreciated.

except that part is on a B18B which comes from an acura integra, not any hondas, unless they have JDM honda parts. i just wish i knew what the part was, i have the helms manual for a 94 integra and it doesn't seem to be in it. anybody else know what that thing is and if an aftermarket throttle body would work just fine? it seems like some sort of hose is attached to the part. and the power steering pump seems wrong........

Re: JDM b18b

ok ive found the part for you, unfortunatly it seems its only sold with the entire throttle body, so you may wanna call a junkyard and try to source one from an older integra, it should be the same as our USDM counterpart.

I FOUND OUT WHAT IT IS FOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
don't ya just looooooove google?!

here is a link to it: http://www.tocmp.com/manuals/Carbs/H...110195710.html

looks like it is for automatic trannys. it says:
Engines, equipped with automatic transmissions, use an anti-stall device called a dashpot. The dashpot affords protection against loading the engine when the accelerator pedal is suddenly released. The dashpot acts to retard the closing rate of the throttle as it approaches the idle posi tion. This gives the engine time to dissipate the raw fuel discharged into the intake manifold, thus overcoming the hazard of stalling.

so, based on that, since i have a 5 speed manual gsr tranny, i don't really need this part, therefore i think i can infer that the BBK throttle body should work just fine for me. any other opinions are most welcome.

Re: JDM b18b

well try running the car without it and see what happens. if it is the case that you have an automatic motor, then your cams will be less agreesive than the manual ones, and will have less HP than normal.

if that is true then why do car manufacturers list only one hp number for manual models and automatic models? wouldn't they have different numbers since the HP is based from the flywheel? i just don't see how the auto version of an engine would have different hp numbers than the manual version. the only difference should be the tranny and the dashpot dealy......at least that is the way i understand it.......

Bah, I want to see spec sheets on cam profiles before taking that internet urban legend to heart. I'm thinking that comes from weaker fuel maps, and more drivetrain loss.
