Chevy Racing Sticker on rear (removal)

I have half of the Chevy Racing sticker on the back of my 95 Cavy, and since it's refurbished and the paint isn't in the best condition, I don't want to cause anymore harm to the paint. What would be the safest way to remove the half-sticker, but not the paint. Would WD-40 work?

I have had good luck with WD-40 in the past. I used a hairdryer first and got pretty soft and pulled it off. Then I used WD-40 on the glue. It didn't appear to hurt the paint.
