91 f150 cruise control

I have just purchased a 91 F150 XLT lariat with 73K mi. It is equipped with the 302/aod trans. My problem is that when I engage crusie control it shuts off when I use the left turn signal, and I have to hit resume to reengage. Signalling right doesnt shut the cruise control off. Any ideas?
Also, whats with the paint job? It has the original paint and it is separating from the primer. Some people have told me that in the early 90's Ford and others used a water based primer that performed poorly. Any thoughts on this?

Re: 91 f150 cruise control

The ground for the left taillight is bad. If that does not fix it, you may need a new T/S switch.

As for the paint. Well, water based or not, the REASON it's peeling is that it dried "too much" before the finnish coat was applied. The "primer" is called "E-Coat", and as you might guess, the "E" stands for Epoxy. It's VERY good primer.
