air condition blowing hot air full of freon 98 explorerantilust 05-20-2004, 06:46 PM i went and got the air conditioner charged with freon but the thing still blows hot air shade tree mechanic stated to take to ford dealership for service stated that the vent door wasnt shutting the heater coil door or something to that effect does anyone no a simple way to resolve this issue without ripping out the dash ??? also my antenna was making a loud noise once fully extended like it didnt recognized that it was fully extended and now it intermittently raises and lowers when its suppose too also the fuse for the horn continues to blow even after replacing it .in previous issues with radios and such i use a higher fuse voltage which tends to cause wires overheating and melting which i hope to avoid as i grow older and more cautious srercrcr 05-21-2004, 08:03 AM First issue: Verify the compressor is generating COLD....With A/C running, one of the A/C lines coming out of the compressor should be cold. If not, then yes, a blend door may be broken. NoXferCase 05-21-2004, 12:19 PM I agree. I have seen several posts about problems with "blend doors". Unless it's raining, just turn it on and look underneath. There should be a slowly growing puddle on the passenger side. If so, the A/C is working. Unfortunately, so is the heater! :disappoin bustedratchet 05-23-2004, 06:03 PM If it's not climate control. Check the hot/cold knob I've seen these break therefore you wont be moving any doors. fordexploder 06-12-2004, 01:14 PM try checking the fixed orfice tube for a clog. This is in one of the high pressure lines. Make sure there isn't any freon in the system first. Don't wannna see anyone get into any trouble..... Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
