Lotus Exige 2005 Just Finished!Ra_15 05-18-2004, 07:08 AM As I promised about two hours ago. Ref Pic: http://www.fast-autos.net/lotus/05exige.html Mine: http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/118193Lotus_Exige.jpg What do you think? p.s. I didn't trace it KustmAce! like the freehand TVR I did which you wrongly thought was traced. quarter_mile 05-18-2004, 07:39 AM Awesome! could be a bit darker though.. asaenz 05-18-2004, 09:58 AM I think it looks excellent. Your freehand skills are awesome. How large is the car rendering? I would just make it darker like Quarter_mile said and add more ranges (pencil shades) esp. on the body. Alfred Ra_15 05-18-2004, 11:15 AM Thanks. On a 1024 by 768 resolution monitor, It's exactly the same size as the original. My TVR was probably twice that. I'll try doing what you two said. For my next project I'm thinking of doing a Caterham R500 Evolution. Ref Pic: http://www.fast-autos.net/caterham/r500evo.html I think I might spend a little longer on this as there is alot more detail and reflections. Ross SeCrEtMoDdEr 05-18-2004, 03:37 PM its outlined in sum places too, maybe change that i like castback 05-18-2004, 07:14 PM i agree with every one else about how you should make it darker and add more detail. i like you choice of ref. cars. lostprophets 05-18-2004, 07:25 PM i think you should add a background to your next drawings.... other than that good  GTmike400 05-18-2004, 07:34 PM Nice job man. I can not stand drawing something smaller than 12x18, even then I dont like that. KustmAce 05-18-2004, 07:43 PM thats a little better then... looks sharp! Jeep_Rubicon 05-18-2004, 07:50 PM dont get me wrong but i still sence some tracing going on. I mean put the ref. in front of the drawing and switch them, they r exactly the same! ? ! I may b wrong but I think ur still tracing. thewhiteguyone 05-18-2004, 08:17 PM it may LOOK like you're tracing, but it's hard to tell because the size of your drawing may just be close to the same size of the ref. I personally dont think you traced. but, I think the same thing as the others....darker bonzelite 05-19-2004, 01:15 AM very excellent pencil drawing/sketch. castback 05-19-2004, 01:35 AM i honestly dont car if you trace your cars but please dont try to deny it. i didn't stretch or distort any of the pictures so they would fit i anly resized it in proportion. looks pretty close to me http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/8199/drwww.jpg tracing isn't a bad thing (to me). sorry if you honestly didn't trace it but it just seems too close. castback 05-19-2004, 01:37 AM Ra_15 05-19-2004, 05:10 AM Bloody hell did I get it that close? No I didn't trace. I just measured out the length between the wheels and things like where the number plate start. There are some things out like the spoiler and the letters on the number plate, and the right head light, which would be perfect if I had traced it. Anyway, look at Stufbyalex's detailed outlines, their much more detailed than mine and are probably perfect aswell, and he doesn't trace. It's just he spends longer on his drawings. quarter_mile 05-19-2004, 05:27 AM wow, for a non-trace thats bloody accurate! Ra_15 05-19-2004, 05:40 AM Right, I've darkened it. Hope you like it. I used a photo editor lol. Too lazy. I think it might be too dark...dunno. Anyway im starting the Caterham! It's going to be a full 30cm by 21cm! http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/118193Lotus_Updated.jpg AnsisK 05-19-2004, 05:30 PM Waaaaaay better dude... Next time, draw it like that and it'll be even better. Don't be afraid to make it even darker (on the painted surfaces) than the actual drawing. Also, be lighter on the pencil. See the backmost line, right baove the front wheel? You should leave that a bit lighter. It still has to be there, but make it a wee bit lighter. bonzelite 05-20-2004, 04:41 AM it's a supreme compliment when others think you traced it. great job. stuffbyalex 05-20-2004, 10:01 PM awesome drawing, awesome choice of car as well:biggrin: i wish i could draw that well in that amount of time i agree with everyone here: the darkened drawing looks better, and you definitely should continue drawing that way. also that it's really accurate for a freehand drawing.(i can't draw as well freehand... i'm addicted to grids!!!) keep it up Ra_15 05-21-2004, 02:19 AM !!! :D Stuffbyalex: "i wish i could draw that well in that amount of time" Thanks :), I wish I could spend 20 hours on my drawings and draw like you! ImolaEK 05-21-2004, 12:53 PM Nice job, i did a sketch of this car a long time ago, maybe i should post it, whenever i get my computer fixed. :disappoin Ra_15 05-21-2004, 02:27 PM If you did it a long time ago it was probably the 2000 Exige, I did the new 2005 one. Hope you get you're computer fixed do I can see it though! Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
