Re: How can I tune my P11?
Some basic stuff:
Fit a catback exhaust system - if you have the CVT/M6 transmission this will make it pull much better and cleaner from a standing start.
Fit a K&N filter - you can fit a drop in K&N which will give you a couple of extra horspower but you'd be better pulling out the existing airbox and fitting a complete new K&N cone filter. In front of the existing airbox is a black pipe (between the airbox and the headlights) - leave this pipe in place. It has the cold air temp sensor mounted in it plus it is useful as it feeds cold air right to where your new cone filter will sit.
As already said - advance the timing a little - this will bring your power further down the rev range and will give you quicker pullaway. Run your car on Optimax though as it's a higher octane.
Those are the easiest quickest mod's to fit. You can go further and fit cam's, etc but your talking bigger money and if it's just a little extra fun and drivability you want then the mod's above will get you going nicely. One downside to fitting cams is that they take power away from the lower rev range and add it on higher up the revs. That's fine for a manual gearbox car as you can fit a wild cam and pull away at higher revs, but for anything automatic/CVT etc you want to avoid this as you need to try pick up more in the lower rev range.
On my Chrysler Neon I also had a highstall torque converter fitted which meant you pulled away at about 2500rpm and I increased the line pressure in the transmission which gave quicker gearchanges, but I haven't looked into anything like this for the Nissan CVT/M6 yet as I know nothing about this transmission.
Hope this helps.
