Exclamation 99 Explorer Sport

I am having a jumping type feeling when the truck goes from either 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd. I dont know much about cars so any help would be greatly appreciated. I have heard that i might need a "power flush". My other problem is the O/D light comes on periodically but when i turn off the car and restart it it goes away. 99 V6 with 77K. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: 99 Explorer Sport

A complete tranny flush could possibly help unless there is real problems and/or damage already happening . The other thing is with the o/d light look on the end of the shifter lever and see if there is a button on the end and if there is that button engauges and dis-engauges the overdrive option.

Re: 99 Explorer Sport

I had the same problem on my same vehicle. Added fuel system cleaner additive in a couple of tanks and the problem went away. But high idleing and overheating problems remain
