Supercharged Preludecky06 05-09-2004, 04:59 PM does anybody know what kind of gains i can get froma jackson racing supercharger. I was thinking about supercharging my prelude b/c i don't have the money to turbo it and i want to know how much power i can get. rollaracer94 05-09-2004, 05:25 PM how much money are you willing to spend??? if you could afford a jrsc u could just build a custom turbo kit for less and get more power out of it... heres a site about custom turbo kits- www.homemadeturbo.com hope that helped AcesHigh 05-09-2004, 10:45 PM The JRSC is probably as expensive as any turbo kit you can find... error54 05-10-2004, 01:21 AM Besides, you can run higher boost with a turbo. Tranzlogic 05-10-2004, 12:32 PM and the jackson racing isnt "that" great of a charger anyways Ricochet 05-10-2004, 02:48 PM The JRSC is probably as expensive as any turbo kit you can find... They cost a lot more actually.. edman24 05-10-2004, 03:35 PM They cost a lot more actually.. yah and no matter what anyone says they dont make power for what they cost. i see civic Si's with the jrsc only putting down like 180 at the wheels. that to me is a complete waste of money. yah its like a 50hp increase at the wheels but a turbo kit that would cost you less money would net more power then that s/c could ever provide and turbo kits have much more potential for more power. pikkagtr 05-12-2004, 09:38 PM yeath the JRSC kit for the 97-01 ludes cost an arm and a leg like 3000 dollars? or ,aybe even higher i got a friend who installed it in his SH 99 with a filter relocation kit and he got like 55 whp????? for 3895 dollars installed without the vpac and piggy back thing too and his belt breaks every 5 months??!!! that's a horrible gain considering the money for about the cheapest 700 dollars you can get a NOS 50 shot system installed!! and get 50 whp!!! i would defintiely advise against SC a lude Rev Hard, Drag, FMax and Greddy/Trust all have turbo kits that have the potential to make 100+ whp when tuned for under 3 grand so go turbo instead my 2 cents Schweinhund 05-13-2004, 01:16 AM Turbos are more tuneable, tweakable and create higher power. A supercharger kit is simple and streetable. Jackson racing should have some information for you on tested HP gains, as they test the hell out of their products. It is reliable, from what I hear, but probably because it is engineered not to get every last ounce of power out of it. A turbo kit, if you don't know what you're doing, could be dangerous, as in you could destroy your engine if you don't know what you're doing, so learn as much as you can first. Even the SCC editors blew up an engine with a JG Edelbrock turbo kit... I make my own set-ups, and destroy engines on occasion, too... Tranzlogic 05-13-2004, 02:56 PM i agree, forget a jackson racing and go with a stage 1 turbo kit, it will be about the same price, it will give you far moer pull and will be far more efficciant ! Jackson racing chargers arnt worth a shit anyways as far as im concerned, with the largest pully and the cooler its only a 40% increase in power..that is sad when compared to a turbo or even the other chargers available for other makes such as vortechs,paxtons,eatons....just because you see jackson racing charges mentioned alot by people who really know nothing about them and see ads for them in every magazine deosnt make them a quality product...in all realness the past few years they have gone downhill, nothin but a name with shitty performance...nike shoes anyone laoz_gsr98 05-13-2004, 09:11 PM i think its worth it... i supercharged my integra gsr and before that i ran a 15.5 and now i am running a 13.7.. superbluecivicsi 05-14-2004, 04:57 AM if you decide to go with the jrsc, search and try out this forum http://www.hostboard.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi/ubb/forum/f/110 it will provide you with alot of info you will need to get on the right track with the jrsc.
