Extra plug???JasonAccord98LX 05-08-2004, 06:56 PM I was adding some transmission fluid to my girlfriends 93 oldsmobile cutlass supreme SL, when I noticed a plug dangling. I decided to plug it back in, but I couldn't find a hole for it. It is one of those normal under-the-hood plugs--plastic, 2 prong, and with the little lever on the top and the blue rubber around the end. I can't find a home for it, so I was thinking maybe that it is for something on a higher model cutlass. It is on the right side of the engine compartment, and when I follow the rest of it back, it joins into the main wiring harness that runs through the firewall into the dashboard. Does anyone have any idea what this might be? Slade901 05-08-2004, 07:11 PM It would help if you can take some digital photograph of that part. Anyway, that part might be part that goes into the side of the air filter box. The part might me for the Air Charge Temperature sensor. Have you converted the the intake system to CAI (Cold Air Intake) like using some K&N or similar? It's not the one that goes into the air filter box, becuase I can see that one and it is plugged in. The car is completely stock; I haven't put a CAI or anything on it. I don't have a digital camera or else I would take a picture. It dangles down near the airbox and that vacumn-looking thing that is connected to the butterfly valve on the throttle body. Thanks for your reply. JasonAccord98LX 05-08-2004, 08:04 PM Does anyone have any ideas? The car seems to run just fine any everything works except for the power locks. JasonAccord98LX 05-09-2004, 04:23 PM I figured it out. It was the plug that goes to the small light that comes on when you pop the hood. It was strange because it was one of those big plugs wrapped all in plastic with the lever on the top--exactly like one of those plugs that would go to a MAP sensor, TPS sensor, or the airbox sensor. Strange they would use that large of a plug to just power a small light-bulb. Oh well. Thank you Slade for replying. Slade901 05-10-2004, 09:56 PM Good you found where the plug goes to. As for the power door locks. Have you check the power door lock relay which is usually located on the passenger side area. On my vehicle the driver side main control can control all other door lock except its own driver side door. Each individual door lock switches works except the driver side door lock. I have to manually lock or un-lock the driver side door lock by moving it up or down. Trace the problem to a defective remote door lock box which is located near the rear speaker (under the cover). Went to the junkyard and got me a replacement one and now it works. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
