Angry Strange Alarm-like sound when stereo power is on

Ok folks. This is really bugging me. Before I take my 2003 Dokota QuadCab back to the dealer for repair, I just wanted to know if anybody else here has experienced this. I started out for home from work and pushed the power on button on my stereo. I get reception on CD and radio, but there is this high-pitched, monotoned "alarm" sound. The sound is NOT coming from the speakers but rather from behind the stereo in-dash. I can turn down the sound completely but the "alarm" tone still rages on. It will only go off if I actually turn the radio off.

Thanks for your help.

Mark

It's just one of those usuall voltage problems all the DCX vehicles have these days. I live with a few myself in my new Liberty.
