Motoroil: Does it really matter what kind you get?Revhard 01-15-2002, 02:39 PM I have a 1994 Mazda Protege and have been using Quake State for the last year or so and I was wondering if the type of motor oil you purchase really matters. My friend was telling me that he has been using Castrol GTX since he bought his new car and that he hasn't had any kind of problems with it. GTStang 01-20-2002, 06:53 PM Full synthetic's definetly in everything I have read are better. So any full synthetic is good, The only warning with them is not to use it during the first 2,00 miles on an engine cuz it wont break in like regular oil will alow it to Sentra Styling 01-20-2002, 11:04 PM I use Mobil 1 synthetic,,and I notice that when the colder weather is here the car runs smoother with the synthetic..... THE4TH 03-22-2002, 09:21 AM if you can afford the xtra $$$ go mobil 1 synthetic it'll significantly lower wear on the engine... JakeGMCHD 05-12-2002, 01:37 PM If you can afford Mobil 1 I would go one step better and buy Amsoil. It has longer drain intervals and less wear on internal parts. In the end it is cheaper. You can go 25K miles a year on one change. THE4TH 07-07-2002, 02:47 AM true but if you wanna go with good stuff go redline oil or something of the sort.. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
