REeasons why a CV joint would breakzykotik 01-14-2002, 07:34 PM I figured I'd ask you all becuase my car is busting the drivers side cv joint once a week. So what would usually cause a G20 to break a cv joint? (Other than it being shot to begin with, I've gone through 3 new ones in 3 weeks) Cue-Ball 01-14-2002, 08:29 PM Once per week!? jesus, man! Is your car stock? Do you drag race a lot? I've NEVER heard of a car that went through CV's like that. Not even a souped up turbo car should break 'em that fast. Who's installing the replacements? -Grant zykotik 01-14-2002, 09:21 PM I am dude...and I' prettu sure I know what I'm doing...I've changed cv joints on all kinds of cars and none have eaten them like my G does. I suspect something else is broken becuase my G did'nt always do this it only started recently so as I said I suspect another part is broken and causing the joint to break over and over again. tim-may 01-14-2002, 09:36 PM zykotic, I'm getting ready to change the front driver CV joint - you say you've done them before, any tips or trick / advice you could share with me to make the process go smoother and quickly? Once a week?! You sound as if you are getting good at them now :) :help: GtRider 01-14-2002, 11:33 PM are you sure your buying the rite cv joint? they have different ones, with abs and without!! paradyme 01-16-2002, 01:54 AM How many miles, I have a 95 G20t w/117,000 miles and I have my drivers side boot rebuilt once. My axle is hard to find for my year car with LSD and I hear rebuilding does not always do it for all axles. I will be replacing my entire front axle in February ....a whopping $900.00 BUCKS for both sides. I am also repalcing the fuel pump. I have another 10 payments before shes all paid off then...bye bye G20...HELLO .....2003/SKYLINE/G35.....Rear wheel drive/V6/260hp/tiptronic shift/BEAUTIFUL! ......NISSAN will also officially recognize and support NISMO aftermarket parts without void of manufacture warranty and they will cater to both the current SE-R and G35 V6 Q sumthin engines...I guess NISSAN is gonna back up their slogan DRIVEN....Thank God! :flash: AznVirus 01-16-2002, 03:47 PM Originally posted by paradyme How many miles, I have a 95 G20t w/117,000 miles and I have my drivers side boot rebuilt once. In other words, you can override the Auto tranny for racing or whatever but when you're trying to eat a popsicle AND drive at once it'll worry abt. shifting for you. Not too bad. www.infiniti.com/g35preview (http://www.infiniti.com/g35preview) urasula 01-17-2002, 01:17 AM can anyone tell me how do we know if the CV joint is broken?
