90 Camry Moonroof repairslantsixness 04-30-2004, 01:18 PM Anybody ever tried to repair a 90 Camry factory moonroof, WITHOUT taking it to the dealer?:chair: What usually happens? Mine is just stuck 98% closed, the motor runs as though its still moving, and stops in either direction, but the roof doesn't open or close. It's not loose and moving either, but stuck just as it tilts into the fully closed and up position. If it's repairable, I'll fix it, but if not, what do I do to get it to just stay closed and up fully. It's too old to take to the dealer anymore. It's my wife's and she loves the car more than I do (I just fix it but don't have to that often!). I discovered this when I found out the transmission was having problems and she lost the keyless entry remote, and lastly one damn headlight has a hole in it. The darn car has to go through safety inspection in May (tomorrow) so that complicates my situation a little further still, damnit! :jump3: does anybody read the toyota posts besides Brian R. ? (he IS helpful at least!) :1zhelp: Slantsixness yotatechie04 05-02-2004, 08:24 AM If you can actually get to the motor on the moon roof, then you should check the gears in the motor, and also check the tracks that they roof runs on. Either one might be damaged, but if you can access these, then it shouldn't be too hard to repair. and the thing you said about Brian R. wasn't fair, I post just as much as he does :crying: slantsixness 05-03-2004, 08:06 AM Thanks, I'm going to take out the headliner and see what I can do, but it'll have to wait until after mother's day or she'll want a new car instead! I'll post the fix if I'm successful... Slantsixness vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
