Question self leveling suspension

Can anyone tell me if is possible to remove the self leveling shocks and cap the system, then install new gas shocks in the back of my 88 635, some BMW shop is telling me yes but i heard is a real pain to do it, I dont want to waste money installing new self leveling shocks as well the acumulator pumps required to complete the install, but i dont want to sacrifice on ride comfort either, please advise!!

Hmm, there are ways

Bavarian AutoSport sells a kit to replace the self leveling or not leveling depending on the condition.

Like the TRX wheels it, self leveling, was not a good idea.
