97 eclipse engine swap 2000 eclipse

hi i was wondering if a 2000 eclipse v6 engine would fit in a 1997 eclipse i bought the engine and got everything like the altenator and the serp belt and the mounts i was just wondering what all i need to put it in the car and if it would fit or not respond or email me at j.perrott@mchsi.com thanks for yer help mike

How much money do you have? It is no where even close to a direct swap. You would be better putting the 4G63T into it.

i couldnt tell you why my son wants the engine in but if it would work id do it but i doubt it will fit i was just wondering if it would and how much it would cost

Right now, I would say no, it will not fit unless you do massive customization to the engine bay.

To get power from the 420A engine in that car, go talk to Hahn Racecraft about getting their turbo kit.

damn, lucky kid, its ALOT harder to find performance parts for 2000+ eclipses though, it would be in his best interest to replace it with another engine for his model
