i have a 94 ford explorer eddie bauer, sometimes it will not start, unless i unplug the fuel cut off switch and plug it back in. even when i do this it works for a few days then has the same problem. has anyone had this problem and how do you fix it.
Ford trucks/SUVs are notorious for faulty fuel gauge readings as they age. From what I hear, it's the sending unit in the tank.
You could fix it, not cheap, will probably happen again....or start watching your odometer.
I assume you are talking about the inertia switch under the carpet, though it doesn't seem right. There are more problems with ECM and fuel pump relays. Whatever you were pulling, why didn't you replace it? Give more details, what is working now may just be coincidence.
when i go to start the truck i dont here the fuel pump turn on, so when try to start, it just keeps turning over. so i unplug the inertia switch and plug it back in . then when i turn the key i hear the fuel pump come on and the truck starts right up. help!
