k.....when i put in my air intake in my 2000 dodge neon..... it started to rain...... you know where the airfilter goes.... for a cold air.....so water can get up there and then....water goes in the engine....."my malfunction indicator ligh come on.... can that be cuased by this????? water getting in the engine throw the intake..... if so... how can i prevent this from happening....

anyways, I doubt that you are getting water in your engine, not from just rain. If you drove through a deep puddle you would suck up water, but It would blow your engine, not through a code. When does you light come on? when its raining? fix your post then we can help you.

okay...... i was in a hurry sorry about that ^^..... anyways, the light came on when it was raining... i thought it was the water going in the intake causing it....... but yesterday i took of mypostive side of my battery and the put it back on to reset everything.... after that i went in my car and turned it on and the light was not there no more.....1 more thing, this is not about this but... i got a tachmeter for my car. 4 colored wires.....red, green, white, and black...... red is for power and black is ground of course..... but what is the green and white for
???

that light is only for electrical problems, there no water sensor in you intake. sorry, your car is fucked up som,ewhere else

green goes to the gray w/blue stripe wire off of pcm, and white goes to a lighting source

If your car was sucking up rain water you would probably experience heavy mis-fire and worst case scenario a motor that would vapor lock (lock up). How's it running now?

and my motor is fine..... its just... ia m getting a 10,000 dollar engine in it.... i seena dodge neon custom everything, when i was in cali....beat a damn viper..!!!!!!! it was sweeet as hell... the engine i am getting a 6 speed..v8..i dunno the HP on it tho..... ..i wanted to get a neon so that when i fix it up and people try to race me and i smoke the shit out of them... haha....the prediction...speeed of my new engine coming soon to be in my car is 3.6-4 seconds 0-60....haha neons are so light
