Tranny Oil Service Life Monitor

While I was looking for general info about 98-present Rodeos, I ran across a mention of the "Oil Service Life Monitor " for the automatic transmission starting in 98. Supposedly, the dealer can hook up some gizmo to the truck and see what kind of condition the ATF is in. Maybe they thought this was a good idea since they didn't give us a dipstick...

This would be handy info to know, especially in my case since my truck has 75K on it but since it is used, I have no idea what kind of maintenance has been done on it.

Anybody ever heard about this feature? Wonder if this info is 'readable' with a code reader...
