93 Escort LX Ate two trannys?

I bought an 93 escort LX which had automatic tranny problems, the torque convertor was squieling. So i knew that i would have to be replacing the tranny shortly. Before i got a chance to change it, i ended up tearing it up and it wouldnt shift over first.

I purchased a used tranny from a salvage yard and spent the last two weekends of my life getting it in the car and all hooked up. Test drove it last night and the car ran like crap.

It will idle for a bit then it will go low enough to stall....(i also changed my plugs while i was doing this). and it jerks the engine it gets so low in rpms until i give it some gas to get it back alive then it does ok for a bit and then its back to almost dying again. a constant cycle. I dont know if this is the just the comptuer trying to figure out whats going on or what.

The new tranny will not shift over first now. On the test drive it would shift but it would shift somewhat hard and little late. On the way home it wouldnt go over first.

Called up a shop and they said the vechile speed sensor?

I dont know.

ANyt ideas, as i think my problems now are electronic.........
