I'm sure if you search you can find a Viper spec T-56 for a GM just like they have Viper spec T-56 for Fords.

Re: viper t56

i agree with joseph. all T-56's should have double overdrives. i only know of two different t-56's, and the only difference between those two is the first and thired gears. Gears as follows...
First second third fourth fifth sixth
3.36 2.07 1.35 1.00 .80 .62
2.97 2.07 1.43 1.00 .80 .62

im not sure witch is in what but i would probably be more inclined to say that the first one listed is in the viper. just because it will give the car a little more acceleration in first.

heres a third one: 2.64, 1.74, 1.34, 1.00, .72, .50 ... viper trans is better for high speeds and more hp, fbodymotorsports has one, i just found one on ebay w/ viper housing and wanted to know if i can get the housing for the f-body seperate.

Re: viper t56

ok well, did the camaros come with a T56? or any other small block chevy? i dont know i just small amouts of info on those, and im mainly a automatic guy. if there is anything that came with a T56 you should be able to take that bell housing and bolt it to the viper T56. they should mount the same unless there was a design change. i dont know if there was but someone should.

oh yeah, and do you know what gears that you listed are out of, (car and years if you know). i would like to add it to my list.

Re: viper t56

yea you could just bolt it to your original bell housing if you already have a t56

no i have a 4l60e thats slippin badly as of now. i have a t5 but dont want to put that in there cuz i think the 4l60e is faster and if i put any manual trans in it mite as well be the best one. the bellhousings on the f-bodies have a 30* offset or somethin like that, if u look at 2 pics of the f-body and viper trans the viper trans has a bigger housing... i guess the f-bodies have that for ground clearance.

Besides the Viper's different bellhousing you need to check if the input shaft is the same diameter and spline count for the Viper vs. F-body.
