1987 GN vs. 455 GTO (Post #1)

Ok here it is, I am heading up to the movie theater ( my date and I just got done with a fine meal from the olive garden) and we stop at a light . I go to look at my date to tell her something and low and behold..... There is an arrest me red GTO ideling rather loudly next to me with two older looking fellows in the seats. Well seeing how I was on a date I was just going to let this one go. They where rrevving it up taunting me and just begging for a run. I was not setup for it. I had my plane jane street tires and I know I was only running about 20 PSI of boost. well as the light on the other side turned yellow my date lookes at me and askes me what I am going to do about the GTO next to me. I told her that I was going to do nothing about it, thinking it was the smart anwser. Then all of a sudden she gets this look on her face like "Oh I know you did not just say that!" What can I say, she wanted a show. Then the light was green, I had not boost built up and the damn GTO was already taking off. Well, I leaned into it and the GTO got about 3 carlengths on me before I got into the boost. About that time the Street tires went up in smoke, so I backpeadeld them and go back on it. Now the GTO is about 5 lengths ahead of me, but then I grabbed traction. You know how you just feel your tires bite and its all good to go from there? Thats what happend. The boost shot up to 22 PSI ( I was frantily turning the boost controll knob to get it up to 24 PSI.) The car shifted into third and before I know it, I was right next to them still pulling hard and at 23 PSI of boost. I gave the boost knob one last turn and turned up the Alcohol spray a bit and went soaring past them and shut it down at 138 MPH. I looked over at my date and she was pale white, she looked like she had seen a ghost. The GTO guys just cruised by me staring in awe. It was one hell of a race

Nice Race, Awesome kill. I have seen those big block GTO's take off they are torque animals. So your ride must be pretty bad Ass.

Nice race man. I still think that the race with the supercharged vette was better.
