do i need a lifter change?

i'm going to change my cams (2.4 dohc) on my cavalier and was wondering if i need to change the lifters/springs. any thing i should check or change along with the cams? my car is a 96 w/ 95k.

I am not sure about tappets (which are in the OHC engines (or followers)) But when you change a cam in a normal engine you would normally change the lifters too. The only reason you would have to change the springs is if you had a much higher cam lift.

the lift is .029 higher on the exhaust and .006 on the intake. the same springs work?

doing the seceret cam swap i take it. It is recommended by GM to replace the lifters when you change cams. But unless you are changing to a pair of brand new cams, but if you not people who do this swap use their old lifters with the junk yard cams.

thinks it's true that it gains about 10-20 horse? i got quite a few other mods.

I would change the Followers just because you have it all apart, and you don't want to get it all back togethere and you have a ticking noise. that would suck.
