Audi 5000 Battery Location

I just bought a non-running Audi 5000 Saturday. Today I went to put a battery in it to see if it will start but I cannot figure out where the battery goes. It has me stumped. I hope someone can educate me on this matter.
Thanks in advance!

I ran into the same problem with my first Audi (1987 5000 Quattro). I bought the Haynes manual and it saved me a lot of time and headaches, especially for those "hard to reach, hard to remove" parts.
