I checked my engine codes and I changed those parts and the car still wont start I changed the crackshaft sensor, EGR valve, and O2 Sensor. The car would like hard to start, gobble up gas like crazy, would like back fire, keeps dieing out, black smoke, run like crap. I was told it could be the timing belt, but I want a second oppinion.its a 95 neon single cam.
I played with timing on my twin cam and my car did some strange sound like a chainsaw or a CRX. It's probably bad timing, remove the timing cover and look for loose belt. You should also check for good timing ( the 2 notches of the crankshaft should be alligned when the #1 piston (passenger side) is at TopDeadCenter ) if you can see them Anyways.
