Ok my damn oil filter wont come off. I have tried my hands, my hands with a rag, two different types of oil filter wrenches, stuck a HUGE screwdriver into it (all the way through both sides) and turning it. And it wont budge.

And before someone tells me "are you turning it the right way" YES, counterclockwise.

Someone give me some ideas, I have to goto school tomorrow :mad:

Have someone else try it? Might have better luck, some how lubing it up?

Try something that loosens bolts, like PBlaster or WD40. I'm not even going to ask why you overtightened it so damn much.

Ok I GOT IT OFF yeah!!! I heated it up with a hairdryer and then hit the screwdriver with a hammer and then turned the screwdriver with my hand and it came off.

And I did not overtighten it, I went a 3/4 turn past hand tighten last time I did it... Well I am going to go look at it now and see why it got stuck.

O and I got a nice face full of oil when the damn wrench fell in the pan. Yea this day is not fun.

Next time put oil on the seal before you install the new filter, that is why it was stuck on there.

I did put oil on the rubber seal.

I make sure mines saturated (rubber does soak a little up) also, get a pair of oil filter pliers (not wrench). the kind with nice metal teeth. I am pretty sure I can get any oil filter off with mine. :smile:
