I've got a 1991 V6 Rodeo....bot new, and never had any problems until this issue came-up. If it doesn't start immediatly...it will flood out. Acutally, what I've figured out is that if the start process is interupted for whatever reason (premature release of the ignition-key, or clutch during starting)...it will not start, no matter how much cranking. Pulling the cover off the air-cleaner tells the story....the injectors are still pumping in raw fuel, and it just keeps flooding worse. Initially the only way it would start is to let it sit for 2-3 hours, then it would start immediately.

So, once I figured this out, I tried pulling the connectors from the injectors....starts immediately, and runs for a second or 2, until it starves out. Plug the injector cables back in, and it starts back up.

After explaining this to a local mechanic (no local Isuzu garage/mechanic), and he changed out the computer. Seemed to work fine for a few weeks, then stalled/flooded out again at start-up. Had another mech look at it with his diag computer, and he said it was the temp sensor (which was reading minus 160 degrees). Changed out the temp sensor, but still same problem.

Any ideas out there ?????? This is a great vehicle (when it starts), and I don't want to have to get rid of it....but my wife says no more $$ on this lemon. Help.

I was talking to someone about your problem and he thinks that the injectors may be the problem. Try to clean them . If that doesn't work maybe replacing them.

Sorry, but you've had this vehicle for what 13yrs, and it's being called a "lemon"??

Has it not served you well for 12-13yrs, or has it always been a problem?

Not trying to be a pain, but I don't understand why someone would call a vehicle over 10yrs of age a lemon, for suddenly having "some" problems. You've probably got well over 100K, and I'm sure there are some expenses that are going to accrue on a 13yr old vehicle.

Would totally agree in the "lemon" factor, if he vehicle was 5yrs and under with major issues.
