Can someone help a customizing newb get on his feet?

Ok, the car that i have is more my parents car, but in like a month or less i will have my own...And its going ot be an 80's honda piecer. Now what I am asking is there some website that has tutorials or some lessons on how to start modifying cars? And specifically what cars they modify? I'm really interested in this stuff now...(yes when I was younger I point and laughed at the big tail fins and stuff, but now I am looking forward to messing with my cars trying to get a little added power/making the interior look better, add a new sound syste....etc. Please help me. And thank you ahead of time to all those that took the time to answer.

Do a search on GOOGLE for Honda message boards and forums. Try like.... "Texas Honda message board", or something like that. I'm sure you will get a board where all the help is.
