Anyone using a graphics tablet here?

Just wondering if one might work good with the pen tool. Or any tool..
And the pen pressure thing sounds interesting.. Heck I can get a Wacom at BB for $89.. (4x6 pad) I thought they cost a lot more than that... Any info at all would be good.

Re: Anyone using a graphics tablet here?

I'm sure they work really good. The college I went to had that out for their advanced photoshop class. Just too bad I took the beginers course, even though I ended up helping teaching...

I want to get one for myself, there's a good sized one for sale at best buy for around $199. I suggest if you can get a good deal on one, go for it...

don't waste money on a 4x6, it almost completely defeats the point of having a pen style tool, you have to keep picking it up to relocate it, you need enough area to make a smooth sweeping line by using your wrist, not your fingertips just like when you draw.

Thanks guys. Yea I know 4x6 (Oops it was 4x5 actually) sounds small but it would be a starter to see if I even want one. Could always sell it and upgrade later if its keeper.
Called BB and they don't have any at the store, just online. Darn, was going to go get one.
Soo looks like newegg might get an order. Only $82 there. Still wondering how they work and curiousity is killin me. For less than $100 I gotta find out...
I let you all know if its worth it if I do order it..

Re: Anyone using a graphics tablet here?

Nothing special really.. just like a mouse, but instead of mouse, you're holding a pen, and drawing what you need on the tablet.
Why don't you try looking on eBay? There are some good deals there for larger sized tablets. If you're going to get one, go for a decent one, 4x6 or 4x5 is just a waste of time and money.

I have the Wacom Graphire3 which is great if you're wanting to draw freehand digitally. Not expensive and really worth more than it costs.
