You have been looking at way too many Lowrider mags. However, I'll help you out, you have to weld it in there. Jas_M 04-13-2004, 02:43 PM So what is "frenching a license plate"? Just welding it onto the back/front of the car instead of bolting it on? Beastiek2 04-13-2004, 03:41 PM i am glad somone else didnt kno what frenching ment i was gonna say WTF yesterday ..i thought it ment like cutting the trunk and molding the plate in sideways. GScivic7 04-13-2004, 04:19 PM frenching a plate means that you cut a hole in wherever you want to mount your plate. Then you weld in this license plate holder and mount your plate in it. Basically so it sits flush or recessed with whatever body panel you stick it in. MTBguy 04-14-2004, 01:02 AM I am supprised nobody before GScivic7 knew what frenching was. You can do it to more than just plates, it can be done to headlights, tailights, etc. lkailburn 04-14-2004, 09:47 AM i love the look of frenched door handles. it looks very clean. haven't seen a rear liscence plate holder frenched in yet.. that is to say like the stock one thats back there. Beastiek2 04-14-2004, 03:37 PM i am stil lost on what this means can someone post pics of a civic with this done or any car for that matter GScivic7 04-14-2004, 06:42 PM http://www.ifcustom.com/A%20uncommon/services/servicespictures/french.jpg see how the license plate is mounted IN the tailgate instead of on the bumper where it would normally be. Actually, this truck has a roll pan instead of a bumper, but you get the idea.
