1995 passat power windows

I just bought this car for my kid to use. passanger front window has a mind of its own, up and down when I turn the ignition key, hit the high/low beams, lock the car with the key. Also have the rear passenger window not working at all. I'm afraid to hand the car over to them in fear that the windows will totally malfunction and thy will not return to the closed postion. Any suggestions??

Re: 1995 passat power windows

You know. I am having the exact same problem with my Passat. The passenger front window will start to click uncontrollably and whenever I put it down, it will put itself back up real erratically. Also, my rear drivers side window doesn't go down either. Did you find any information for your problem? If so, will you pass it on?

Thumbs up Re: Re: 1995 passat power windows

I have just sorted the passenger window on my son's Passat. The problem was in the control circuit attached to the window motor. One of the solder connections to the main input plug was broken. I had to cut open the plastic box and resolder the connection. Easy when the problem is found. I have a jpeg of the offending item if this will help.

My passenger window would not roll up anymore. Do you think your solution would work for my Passat? Could you send me the jpeg? Thank you! Marieke

Smile Passat windows

I have posted a picture of the offending window control box in my gallery. To access the control box you must remove the window gear from inside the passat door. You need to lower the window !!!! then take out just about any bolt you can lay a spanner on. Once out the control box can be opened with a sharp saw. Be careful as you don't want to damage the circuit board. Once you have access repair is simple. Good luck and I hope this helps your window problem.

dead battery

Hey

I had a 94 Jetta with the same problems of the windows going down when they wanted. Mostly when I was starting the car.

My battery was running low, it was enough to crank it over , but drew to much from the rest of the system, which causes a power flux to the power window relays.

Try to charge your battery , or replace it it with a new one.
